The Brownsville Crime Stoppers Program began in 1982 from the efforts of our Chamber of Commerce and our Police Department. Our Program now operates as an independant organization. The concept has developed into a combination of efforts by local media, businesses, civic and social clubs, law enforcement agencies, and the public. Donations, newspaper space, and reward monies have established Crime Stoppers as an effective tool to fight crime in the area.

Brownsville Crime Stoppers is an anonymous reward program that involves the citizens, the media, and local area law enforcement in an effective crime control program.  The program is designed to assist law enforcement agencies in the identification apprehension and prosecution of persons suspected of having committed a criminal act.
